Process Five phases · written down

From conversation
to launch.

Every engagement runs through the same five phases, shared with the client in plain language before anyone signs anything. No surprises. No mystery deliverables.

Phases5
Decision points3
01

Discovery

Conversation, not interrogation.

Typical 1 week

A real conversation about the business — what it sells, who it serves, where it is trying to grow, and what the current site or system is failing to do. The output is a short written brief that captures the engagement in one page, in plain language, before any design work begins.

Deliverables

  • One-page engagement brief
  • Goals and success criteria
  • Working timeline
02

Strategy

Decide the right thing to build.

Typical 1–2 weeks

Positioning, audience, and the core message of the work. Information architecture and sitemap. Content strategy and a writing plan. A reference set that establishes the visual direction. The output is a strategy document the design and build will be measured against — and it is the right time to course-correct.

Deliverables

  • Positioning + voice notes
  • Sitemap and IA
  • Content strategy
  • Visual reference set
03

Design

Editorial-grade design that earns its register.

Typical 2–4 weeks

Design proceeds in working files, not slide decks. Real type at real sizes, real photography, real copy. The studio designs in-browser whenever possible — deciding on what the final site will actually look and feel like, not a high-fidelity sketch.

Deliverables

  • Design system tokens
  • Key page designs
  • Component library
  • Live design reviews
04

Build

Hand-built. Performance-first. Made to age well.

Typical 2–4 weeks

Frontend built by the same hands that designed it, on a stack chosen for the engagement rather than for fashion. Accessibility, performance, and SEO are part of the build, not a punch list at the end. The site is reviewed in real conditions on real devices before launch.

Deliverables

  • Production frontend
  • CMS or content workflow
  • Analytics + OG image system
  • Pre-launch review
05

Launch

A clean launch. The studio stays on.

Typical 1 week

Launch day is mostly quiet, because the work was done by then. The studio sets up the environment, watches the first weeks closely, and continues as the long-term steward of the site — content updates, performance tuning, small feature work, and the quiet maintenance that keeps a site working as well in year three as it did at launch. The same hands that built the site stay on to administer it.

Deliverables

  • Production launch
  • Owner manual
  • Two weeks of post-launch support
  • Monthly care plan
After launch

The studio is still on the line.

Two weeks of post-launch support is included in every engagement. From there, the studio continues under a monthly care plan — content updates, performance tuning, small feature work, and the quiet maintenance that keeps a site working as well in year three as it did at launch.
