Project overview
A planned arcade and bar in historic downtown Wendell, with classic arcade games, a full bar, and space for groups and parties. The site was organized around those three things and built to work before the doors opened. The business has since dissolved and the site is offline; I've kept this write-up as a record of the project.

How I approached it
A new arcade and bar planned for historic downtown Wendell, North Carolina, built around three things: classic arcade games, a full bar, and space for groups and parties. The site had to do two jobs at once: build interest before opening with a working “Get Opening Updates” signup, and include the pages (drink menu, groups, hiring) the business would need once it opened.
I designed and built the site. It uses a dark design with one accent color, shows the opening date up front, and keeps the three parts of the business clearly separate. The structure was built to change from an announcement site to a regular business site without a redesign. Most of the navigation was already in place and only needed content.
The business has since dissolved and the site has been taken offline. The image above shows it as it launched.
What was delivered
Deliverables
- A pre-launch site with a "Get Opening Updates" email signup
- Site sections for the three parts of the business (games, the bar, and events), set up to grow without a redesign
- A drink menu, a groups and private events page, and a hiring page ready for opening
- A dark design with one accent color and the opening date shown up front

- Most of the navigation was already in place, so content could be added through launch without a second project
- Static site, layout tuned for phones, and accessible code
- Built to work both before and after opening
